How it all started – the P-lite prototype

Oct 2nd, 2008 | By nitetrip | Category: NiteTrip Concept to Development

My obsession with my invention started while watching an episode of “The American Inventor”.  Or was it the invention project my step-daughter Kelsey was assigned at school?  Maybe it was the stubbed toe on the laundry basket.  Whatever the triggers were, the result has been that I’ve been consumed with building a better “mouse trap” [...]

NiteTrip Promotion Video

Oct 1st, 2008 | By nitetrip | Category: NiteTrip Concept to Development

We created this 60 second spot to highlight the NiteTrip light. I think its pretty good at illustrating a few of the ways the light can be used.  We need to create one showing it used in a Nursery and hotel room.  Any other comments or improvements?

Nite Trip models

Sep 29th, 2008 | By nitetrip | Category: Design & Engineering

These are the first versions of the NiteTrip light.  Available in white, silver and champagne.  White seems to appeal to women, silver with men and champagne for boomers and elderly.  So far sales have been pretty even across all three colors.  Which do you perfer?  and Why?

Step 1. Build a prototype.
Step 2. Test it [...]

Good information at Startupnation.com

Sep 19th, 2008 | By nitetrip | Category: Invention Resources

There were a number of resources I used to help take my portable night light idea from inception to production.  I wish I would have known about startupnation.com early on. I think it would have saved me some time in finding certain information.  Startupnation.com is a social venue for entrepreneurs and small business owners to discuss all [...]

How we started the NiteTrip

Sep 19th, 2008 | By nitetrip | Category: Kids

When we all came up with the idea for the nitetrip, a light that helps you see when you pee. We all fooled around with the idea and thought it was crazy, but we made it happen. At first I thought the nitetrip was a ridiculous idea. But we had a blackout, and at night [...]
